Mommy Makeover a Popular Procedure for Mother's Day Says Orlando Plastic Surgeon
Orlando, FL — With the latest statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reporting that over 325,000 mommy makeover procedures were performed in the past year and popular television shows like Desperate Housewives and The Swan placing an increased emphasis on beauty for mothers in the U.S., Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a board-certified Orlando plastic surgeon, says mommy makeovers have never been more popular. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says he has seen a growing demand for the enhancement at his practice, and outlines one particular patient case that demonstrates the general trend patients are looking for when they request a procedure.
As awareness about mommy makeovers continues to rise, he says he expects to see a swell in surgeries commonly associated with the procedure, such as breast augmentation in Orlando. Also, with Mother’s Day on the horizon, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says many patients are beginning to pursue the comprehensive procedure to help them look their best and feel appreciated for their hard work.
One such patient at Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani’s practice recently underwent a mommy makeover operation that included bilateral breast lift surgery, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), and liposculpture of the hips. Specifically targeted towards women who have had children and are experiencing a sagging in their breasts, abdomen, or hips, a mommy makeover typically combines some form of a breast augmentation or lift with breast implants in Orlando and a procedure such as liposuction or tummy tuck to help tighten skin around the waist that may have stretched during pregnancy.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says his patient, Deborah, is 51 years old and healthy, but was seeking a change in her body to help her feel good about herself. Using an innovative suture technique for performing the tummy tuck that reduces surgery time and helps repair the muscle damage that is done during pregnancy, he says Deborah had the procedure at the end of last year and has made a speedy recovery.
“After having kids and growing older, my body changed, my tight stomach and perky youthful breasts had changed. I began feeling self-conscious in the clothes I wore and throughout my daily activities. I finally decided it was time and money that I wanted to spend on me,” says Deborah.
At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says most patients, like Deborah, come in requesting body contouring and breast surgery procedures for a comprehensive mommy makeover to help them restore firmness and vitality to their figure following childbirth. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says patients at his practice are predominantly looking to refresh and rejuvenate their body to a pre-baby appearance, so they can feel confident and invigorated for the challenges and beauty of motherhood. Deborah says the procedure helped her regain her self-esteem and find confidence in her love life.
“With much research, I decided to go with Dr. Jon as my surgeon of choice for the mommy makeover procedure. I am very pleased with my results. Now, I am proud of my body. I can wear cute little nightgowns without feeling uncomfortable because of sagging breasts, and most importantly, my better half is happy with the new me,” says Deborah.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says the growing community of mothers who are turning to plastic surgery to help them regain confidence and vitality has demanded a strong presence in social media platforms such as Facebook. He says many mothers are using social media outlets to stay connected with their doctor and engage with other patients to share their experiences and learn more about the procedures. However, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani stresses the importance of ensuring one’s plastic surgeon is board-certified and experienced in performing a wide range of cosmetic procedures, regardless of which enhancement patients are considering. He adds that helping patients achieve the appearance they have always dreamed of should be the ultimate goal of every plastic surgery practice.
“Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing a woman restore the self-confidence she has longed for. A mother makes many emotional and physical sacrifices for her family and it’s gratifying to see them invest in themselves. With innovative techniques in place, patient satisfaction for this procedure is very high. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help women feel better about themselves,” says Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani.

Jon Paul Trevisani, M.D., F.A.C.S., or better known to his patients as “Dr. Jon,” is board-certified in plastic surgery and is the founder and Medical Director of the Aesthetic Surgery Centre in Maitland, Florida. The Aesthetic Surgery Centre is one of the leading breast augmentation and plastic surgery centers in the state.
To answer last Friday’s Facebook post, Dr. Jon gave up his love for peanut butter for Lent. It has not been easy for him, especially when he finds me having peanut butter breath all day long or even finding an over-sized open jar of peanut butter on the kitchen counter! His love for peanut butter spreads for many many years. I’ve seen him spread his Peanut Butter on a piece of graham cracker, bagel, turkey sandwich, oatmeal and even an egg sandwich. Dr. Jon has been pondering this palate pleasing treat to be used in pasta! He has indulged in specialty flavored gourmet peanut butters such as raspberry white chocolate, honey-roasted almond, and cinnamon currant peanut butter. However, Dr. Jon is a simple-classic-plain peanut butter lover!

Recent news reports have given light to the manufacturing standards of breast implants. Breast implants made by French company Poly Implant Prothése (PIP) have been found to contain industrial-grade silicone instead of medical-grade silicone. Approximately 300,000 women in 65 countries received implants made by the company. The PIP implants have been suspended from marketing, distribution and exportation. The health risks of industrial-grade silicone remain unclear but there are speculations of increased incidence of inflammation and concerns about cancer and other toxic exposures. PIP silicone implants were never approved and/or licensed for the use in the United States.
It is important to reiterate and stress that implants in the United States have a long, proven history of high quality with rigorous testing during the manufacturing process. Implants in the United States adhere to strict quality manufacturing requirements that measures excellent strength, resilience and elasticity. The FDA sets high standards in extensive bio-compatibility testing on all its breast implants. With these safety standards in place, the global reputation for high quality breast implants cannot be undermined.
Due to these recent developing reports on PIP implants, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani has consulted with women who have undergone breast augmentation using these French PIP implants. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani states, “I have performed numerous of breast augmentation and breast revisionary surgeries. These women who have received PIP implants do not compare with ruptured implants I have seen before. The shell of the PIP implants were completely ruptured and disintegrated”.
Mentor® has designed a Compassionate Care Program for patients with PIP Breast Implants who are considering replacement. The program is offering a $250 American Express® Gift Card to patients who replace PIP Saline or Gel Breast Implants with MENTOR® Saline or Gel Breast Implants. This program is valid from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012, and may be subject to program limits.

At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says Acellular Dermal Matrix can strengthen tissue in the breast during cosmetic augmentation and revision breast surgery. He utilizes Strattice® grafting to offer patients with crippled breasts, due to implant complications or naturally thin tissue, the chance to have confidence and pride in their figure. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani discusses the benefits of Strattice® tissue and its ability to support and reinforce the breast. He also describes the recent success of one of his patients who underwent the procedure during revision breast augmentation in Orlando.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a plastic surgeon in Orlando, is using Strattice® grafting from porcine skin to aid patients with thin breast tissue and crippled shape in restoring their natural feminine shape. Strattice® grafting, also is a type of Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM), has primarily been used in reconstructive procedures; however, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani has begun utilizing the advanced technique to enhance cosmetic results and strengthen tissue following breast augmentation revision or complications. Through reinforcement of the breast tissue and careful attention to shape and proper placement, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says women can regain confidence in their figure.
Strattice® grafting, derived from pig skin, is a sheet of sterile tissue that is implanted to strengthen soft tissues, support the development of new blood vessel networks, and stimulate cell regeneration. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that while there are other types of ADM that come from human donors, his preference is Strattice® because it offers firmer, more natural-looking results and can secure implant location to reduce migration of the breast implant. He adds that patients whom have suffered from capsular contracture or rippling, or whom have little to no breast tissue as a result of thin, skin or multiple breast surgeries may be excellent candidates for Strattice® grafting. “Women who have undergone multiple breast surgeries can often become distraught with surgical intervention for corrective breast augmentation. This material has given new hope for my patients who fall into the category of crippled breast syndrome.”
One of Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani’s recent patients for breast implants in Orlando received Strattice® grafting to give her skin more thickness and coverage after an accident during her childhood and several breast surgery complications. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that when she first came to his practice, this patient had suffered from scarred and asymmetric breasts as a result of a horse falling on her at the age of 15. She had also had much of her breast tissue removed during a breast augmentation that developed capsular contracture and Staphyloccus infection. Following explantation of the implants and another procedure, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says the patient had been left with thin skin and rippling and necessitated a Strattice® graft to both breasts. He adds that because of the advancements in production available with Strattice® and other ADMs, he was able to restore her tissue and help her experience the happiness and confidence of normal, healthy-looking breasts.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that because of experiences like his recent patient, he is thankful to be a part of the developing world of plastic surgery as more and more innovations continue to arise all the time to help patients lead a positive, joyful life. He adds that he is also excited about the future of plastic surgery techniques that will result from research and dedication to patient care and quality results. “In the field of plastic surgery, advancements like this will benefit our patients for years to come as we continue to help them look and feel better about themselves. Introducing this revolutionary product at my office not only helps my patients achieve their aesthetic goals, but also provides a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem.”
