Overnight Nursing Care Ensures Patient Safety According to Orlando Plastic Surgeon
According to the most recent statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), cosmetic procedures have increased by 5% since 2009 to 13.1 million enhancements performed. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a plastic surgeon in Orlando, says as plastic surgery continues to rise in demand, maintaining strict standards of patient care is essential for ensuring safety and achieving the proper results. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani discusses putting patient care first by requiring overnight nursing care following certain surgical procedures and the benefits of demanding such treatment.
At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says overnight nursing care is essential to ensuring patient safety and proper recovery following certain surgical procedures. With the number of plastic surgery procedures performed having risen 5% to 13.1 million since 2009 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says dedication to the highest standards of care has become even more important. Because of the surge in popularity of cosmetic enhancement, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says patients need to be sure to consult with a surgeon who displays excellence in thorough treatment and passionate care by offering overnight nursing for specific surgical procedures.
As a board-certified Orlando plastic surgeon, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says overnight nursing care offers significant benefits to patients for a quick, healthy recovery from surgery. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani requires overnight patient care for tummy tuck and facelift procedures at his practice in their accredited facility; however, it is offered for all surgical patients as an option. He says the benefits of such treatment include individualized, around-the-clock care delivered by a Licensed Registered Nurse with Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training. In addition to an anxiety-free environment for restful recovery, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says overnight nursing facilities also provide the latest in monitoring devices such as blood pressure monitoring systems, immediate access to oxygen, and sequential leg compression devices to help maintain proper circulation of blood. He says recovery in an overnight facility offers patients the safety and security of knowing they are in experienced hands. “Providing a high standard of care and safety in the immediate post-operative phase are my primary considerations when I think about my patients’ best interests following surgery. Our Registered Nurses provide the highest level of quality care to our patients and eases the anxieties for both family members and patients.”
Whether patients are seeking a facelift or another surgical procedure such as breast augmentation in Orlando, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says he recommends consulting with a plastic surgeon who has access to the most advanced technology in patient care. He adds that through proper communication with one’s surgeon and a passionate staff, patients can achieve a safe and satisfactory plastic surgery experience.

At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says Acellular Dermal Matrix can strengthen tissue in the breast during cosmetic augmentation and revision breast surgery. He utilizes Strattice® grafting to offer patients with crippled breasts, due to implant complications or naturally thin tissue, the chance to have confidence and pride in their figure. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani discusses the benefits of Strattice® tissue and its ability to support and reinforce the breast. He also describes the recent success of one of his patients who underwent the procedure during revision breast augmentation in Orlando.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a plastic surgeon in Orlando, is using Strattice® grafting from porcine skin to aid patients with thin breast tissue and crippled shape in restoring their natural feminine shape. Strattice® grafting, also is a type of Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM), has primarily been used in reconstructive procedures; however, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani has begun utilizing the advanced technique to enhance cosmetic results and strengthen tissue following breast augmentation revision or complications. Through reinforcement of the breast tissue and careful attention to shape and proper placement, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says women can regain confidence in their figure.
Strattice® grafting, derived from pig skin, is a sheet of sterile tissue that is implanted to strengthen soft tissues, support the development of new blood vessel networks, and stimulate cell regeneration. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that while there are other types of ADM that come from human donors, his preference is Strattice® because it offers firmer, more natural-looking results and can secure implant location to reduce migration of the breast implant. He adds that patients whom have suffered from capsular contracture or rippling, or whom have little to no breast tissue as a result of thin, skin or multiple breast surgeries may be excellent candidates for Strattice® grafting. “Women who have undergone multiple breast surgeries can often become distraught with surgical intervention for corrective breast augmentation. This material has given new hope for my patients who fall into the category of crippled breast syndrome.”
One of Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani’s recent patients for breast implants in Orlando received Strattice® grafting to give her skin more thickness and coverage after an accident during her childhood and several breast surgery complications. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that when she first came to his practice, this patient had suffered from scarred and asymmetric breasts as a result of a horse falling on her at the age of 15. She had also had much of her breast tissue removed during a breast augmentation that developed capsular contracture and Staphyloccus infection. Following explantation of the implants and another procedure, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says the patient had been left with thin skin and rippling and necessitated a Strattice® graft to both breasts. He adds that because of the advancements in production available with Strattice® and other ADMs, he was able to restore her tissue and help her experience the happiness and confidence of normal, healthy-looking breasts.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says that because of experiences like his recent patient, he is thankful to be a part of the developing world of plastic surgery as more and more innovations continue to arise all the time to help patients lead a positive, joyful life. He adds that he is also excited about the future of plastic surgery techniques that will result from research and dedication to patient care and quality results. “In the field of plastic surgery, advancements like this will benefit our patients for years to come as we continue to help them look and feel better about themselves. Introducing this revolutionary product at my office not only helps my patients achieve their aesthetic goals, but also provides a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem.”

Plastic Surgeon in Orlando Discusses Silicone Gel Implants for Breast Augmentation
According to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 62% of the 318,123 breast augmentation procedures performed in 2010 used silicone breast implants. At his Orlando plastic surgery practice, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says his patients chose silicone over saline implants at roughly the same percentage, and often attribute their choice to the more natural appearance and soft touch of the new silicone gel implants.
The most recent data from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) shows more than 9.3 million cosmetic procedures were performed in 2010, with breast augmentation highlighted at the most popular form of surgical aesthetic enhancement. Of the 318,123 procedures performed, 62% of patients chose silicone breast implants, a statistic Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Orlando, FL, says is reflected at his practice.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani attributes this propensity for silicone breast implants to a more natural look and feel of the new generation of implants, which now use a cohesive silicone gel. “There are two main differences between the new generation of silicone implants and the silicone implants of the past. The first is that the outer shell or covering of the implant is thicker than the shell previously used, thus the rupture rate is lessened. The other difference is that the composition of the newer implant is not as “liquid” as before, and therefore more cohesive. Should a rupture occur or the integrity of the shell be compromised, the gel will remain intact.”
While his patients prefer silicone implants, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani stresses the importance of patient education during the consultation process. “Educating patients is a key component during my consultation. I want my patients to understand that silicone does not correlate to any disease processes. Knowing this information alone eases anxieties for many patients.”
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says patients often enter his practice with certain expectations concerning the breast augmentation procedure, armed with some basic facts about silicone breast implants. While they are most concerned with the safety of silicone implants, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani says he is quick to reassure his patients that the silicone implants of today are very different from those used in the past. “Patients are often times concerned whether certain autoimmune diseases are associated with the use of silicone implants. Again with effective communication and thorough understanding, the issue of safety has been resolved. Cost is also another factor of concern for patients. Silicone implants do cost more than saline implants. The choice of using saline or silicone implants is a patient’s personal decision. My goal is to educate patients and help them understand so they are able to make an informed decision.”

Smaller Breast Augmentation Scars at Orlando Plastic Surgery Practice
As a board-certified plastic surgeon in Orlando, FL, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani is able to achieve smaller scars when performing breast augmentation procedures with the innovative Keller Funnel™. According to Dr. Jon Trevisani, the funnel allows him to use smaller incisions for silicone breast implants similar to those associated with saline implants, which also results in less bruising and post-operative discomfort for his breast augmentation patients.
Jon Paul Trevisani, MD, FACS is able to perform breast augmentation procedures with smaller scars at his Orlando plastic surgery practice. The Keller Funnel™ is a technologically advanced breast implant delivery device, which allows Dr. Jon Trevisani to use smaller incisions when placing the breast implant because of a special interior coating[1]. Due to the vast number of breast augmentation procedures Dr. Jon Trevisani performs with the Keller Funnel™, he has been certified by Keller Medical, Inc.
As is true of any cosmetic enhancement procedure, scarring can have a significant impact on patient satisfaction with a breast augmentation procedure. Dr. Jon Trevisani says the Keller Funnel™ is extremely effective at limiting the amount of scarring because of the cone-shape and hydrophilic interior coating that allows him to propel an implant into place with minimal pressure. He adds that patients are often concerned with additional costs associated with an innovative device such as this. “The Keller Funnel™ is a unique device with added patient benefits. However, there is no added expense for my patients. This is a standard practice at my office, and I find comfort in knowing that I am providing my patients with an increasingly safe and effective procedure.”
Additionally, Dr. Jon Trevisani says the funnel’s design results in less bruising and discomfort for patients after the procedure, and employs a no-touch technique to eliminate the likelihood of contamination. Ultimately, Dr. Jon Trevisani says the Keller Funnel™ provides him with a better way to surpass patient expectations while preserving the greatest respect for patient safety.

According to recent data from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the number of patients who undergo surgical and non-surgical cosmetic enhancement procedures has increased by 162 percent since 1997. One of the procedures that continues to grow in popularity at Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani’s practice offering plastic surgery in Orlando, Florida is the Mommy Makeover, a treatment that is designed specifically for new moms who wish to restore their figures after pregnancy.
Over 10.2 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States in 2008 alone. As plastic surgery continues to grow in popularity, many new moms have begun to request plastic surgery treatments to help them rejuvenate their bodies after the rigors of pregnancy and childbirth have taken their toll.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani is a board certified plastic surgeon in Orlando, Florida. He offers what’s known as the Mommy Makeover for new moms who would like to restore and rejuvenate areas on the body such as the abdomen and breasts that can lose their shape after pregnancy. Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani will customize your treatment plan using the most advanced techniques in plastic surgery to optimize your surgical results and minimize your recovery time so that you can attain that inner strength and self-confidence you were longing for.
The Mommy Makeover combines several of the most popular and effective cosmetic surgery procedures including breast lift, breast augmentation, breast reduction, and liposculpture. In addition Dr. Jon Trevisani often performs a tummy tuck in Orlando, Florida as part of the Mommy Makeover procedure. With the tummy tuck procedure, Dr. Jon Trevisani removes excess abdominal skin and fatty deposits to reveal smoother, trimmer, and more feminine contours. In addition, the procedure will tighten stomach muscles and thus reversing the effects that pregnancy can have on the abdomen. Dr. Jon Trevisani says patients who opt for a Mommy Makeover can also effectively reduce the appearance of stretch marks, a common concern for many women after giving birth. “Those patients coming here can feel comfortable that they’re getting the best service available, we are committed to providing the highest level of quality care and concern for the individual, while maintaining absolute integrity and confidentiality”. Women interested in flatter, more toned stomach after pregnancy are often excellent candidates for this procedure.
For women whose breasts have begun to droop or sag after pregnancy, Dr. Jon Trevisani offers the breast lift procedure as part of the Mommy Makeover that removes excess skin and restores the breasts to a more youthful appearance. “Often times on evaluating those patients a breast lift is what really is indicated after having several children or breastfeeding.” Breast implants can also be included as part of the breast lift in Florida to create fuller, shapelier curves in the breasts.
Dr. Jon Trevisani tailors the Mommy Makeover procedure to address each individual patient’s specific concerns. Early signs of age and exhaustion can also affect new mothers. In this case, non-surgical treatments such as BOTOX® COSMETIC can be included as part of a Mommy Makeover to rejuvenate the skin and reduce the appearance of frown lines and wrinkles.
The Mommy Makeover is unique in its approach to provide comprehensive cosmetic treatment for new moms who wish to enhance their figures and improve their appearance after undergoing the physical side effects of pregnancy. And for new moms, the gift of having children doesn’t have to come at the expense of looking and feeling great.
Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American Medical Association.
